You are what your deep driving desire is. As your desire is; so is your will. As your will is; so is your deed. As your deed is; so is your destiny.
-Brihadaranyaka Upanishad IV
*Don't diet!! Focus instead on healthy habits. Eat fresh as close to nature as possible. Limit or avoid processed foods.
*Eat consistently. Don't skip meals. Be prepared to eat 5-6 small meals or snacks per day
*Don't beat yourself up. Take your healthy eating plan one meal at a time. If you "mess up" get back on track. Reality is if you stay on track 80% of the time you will not gain weight.
*Eat like a king for breakfast, a prince for lunch and a pauper for dinner.
*Drink water. Many times we misinterpret thirst for hunger. Staying hydrated will help you stay energized. Note that being dehydrated can decrease your metabolism by 3%.
*Don't' deprive yourself. If you need a "treat" indulge in a small portion and ENJOY it. Deprivation often leads to binging.
*Keep a food journal. Food logs are a great way to create and keep awareness in your eating patterns.
*** Most importantly be persistent and consistent!!
