My Fitness Journey By Carrie White The choice I made 3 years ago was to train, not impulsively but with purpose. What I wanted was to complete a half marathon for the first time in my life. I wanted to start exactly where I was at and build my body correctly to achieve a goal I believed may not be attainable, after all, I wasn’t a “runner”. I sought out information and slowly pieced a plan together. It took the loving support of an amazing running partner and a great pair of shoes but 5 months later I completed my first half marathon and officially referred to myself as a runner. From there I had caught the fitness bug. I knew that whatever I put my mind to I was capable of. Fitness goals no longer represented something that I could not do but now were something I knew, that with the right plan and serious commitment I could achieve. The sweat, pain, soreness and exhaustion were temporary but the results I would be left were something I could be proud of. Along my journey, I decided to prioritize a personal trainer into my life and have built a level of strength I am very proud of. I have recently decided to include my eating choices as a large and relevant factor in my fitness. Prior to this decision, food was something of a non-issue to me. I ate in a reasonably healthy way but not with purpose. Now I am watching my body transform yet again and it feels great. As with most everything in life, consistency produces the best results. A lot of feelings have come up for me along my fitness journey. We are complex humans and we cannot escape how much our emotions are tied to the way we see our bodies. Working through those feelings has allowed me to become more wholly myself. I highly recommend choosing fitness and health for life
